![]() I did not want to go into the hospital alone (because of COVID) I took the first medication at my drs office this morning and will take the next medication tomorrow evening. I could take medication to expel or have a d&c. It was in fact a blighted ovum and I had had a missed miscarriage. Of course at this point a yolk sac would not appear. The dr told me this was not a viable pregnancy. I was measuring at 7w3d but still no yolk sac or fetal pole. Levels were in range with a 5-6 week pregnancy and were doubling every 2 days as normal. In the mean time, dr tested my HCG levels 3x. ![]() I had a bad feeling about the situation because my cycle is regular but the dr told me not to worry too much and to come back in 2 to 3 weeks. There was no sign of yolk sac or fetal pole. I was actually measuring at 4w4d based on gestational sac size. I was thinking I was 6w at my first US based on LMP. I am so sorry you are going through this. Has anyone here experienced this high of HCG level at 5 weeks without any sign of the baby? My cousin also mentioned blighted ovum and I've read about molar pregnancy but I'm still hoping to see some progress / light in my next week's appointment. Based on the ultrasound, my GS measured 5 weeks 2 days so if you'll base it there, I was 5 weeks 4 days yesterday but my HCG levels are already past 30K. My cousin and I were initially thinking that it could be an ectopic pregnancy but then when I had my lab done after work, my HCG levels were 31,388 in 2 days. He also scheduled another lab test for my HCG on Thursday 6/4. He mentioned that with my HCG being more than 10,000 we should at least see a yolk sac or fetal pole, but the tech couldn't confirm it and all we can do is wait for my next in-person appointment which is on 6/12 and pray and hope for the best. I had a phone appointment yesterday with an OB and first thing he told me was that there was no heartbeat found which is not normal for my HCG level. I thought okay, maybe he's not too familiar with pregnancies so I'll just try to get a phone appointment with an OB on Monday. I asked about the ultrasound but all he said is that he already referred me to an OB. I asked him if my cervix opened since it could have been the caused of the spotting, and he said that there's nothing we can do anymore if my cervix opened. He said he scheduled another lab test for my HCG on Monday 6/1 which is 2 days later. When the ER doctor discharged me, all he told me was that most miscarriages happen during the 1st trimester and it's still too early as of the moment. I got really excited since it seems high and thinking maybe twins or possibly a girl. While waiting, I saw that lab result for my HCG is at 15,204. After the ultrasound, I had to wait for more than an hour. I was at the ER until 6:00 am since the ultrasound was on call. Based on my LMP, I should have been 5 weeks 4 days that Saturday. I had been in contact with my cousin who's an OB who lives far away and she advised for me to go to the ER. I started researching but thought it was just normal since my body is probably adjusting to this pregnancy. ![]() A few days earlier, I also spotted but it was dark brown and it was the morning after we had sex the night before. We were worried that my cervix opened or I was leaking since the spotting started again after we had sex around 6:00 pm and I was still spotting light pink when I peed around 9:00 pm. ![]() I went to the ER on Friday night around 11:00 pm due to light spotting / bleeding. I've been researching and reading all sorts of articles and discussions all over the internet ever since the weekend. I apologize in advance if this is such a long post but any comments / stories is greatly appreciated :( just trying to have some hope here. ![]()
